Critics The Better Angels

Impressive in many ways. Making history?. Sublime visual poetry
My new take on black and white movies. Touching. Impressionist film about young Abe Lincoln
A childhood of legends and half life. I dove deep into this movie and stepped back in time. Apparently someone got a camera for Christmas.
Simultaneously ahistorical and American, universal and particular. He asks questions I can't answer ... He has a gift. Overall, this movie captures Lincoln's early life and what shaped him well, but it's not the best movie.
Uncomfortable to look at. Malick Homage. Slow so slow
If you watch this movie for no other reason ... A fascinating piece of cinema ... Meditative, but not much to say
Artistic, but without substance. The Better Angels Review
