Biografía de Suchitra Pillai
Before becoming an actor, Suchitra Pillai had quite an eventful life. She was born on August 27, 1970, in Mumbai, India. Her father was an Indian Air Force officer, so her family moved frequently. She spent her childhood shuttling between various Indian cities and also lived in Germany, where her father was posted.
Suchitra’s family was quite sporty as well, and she grew up playing various sports, including hockey and basketball, at school. She was also a state-level tennis player and represented the women's tennis team of the Bombay Gymkhana. She had to give up sports later as her family moved to a new city, where she couldn't continue playing.
After completing her schooling, Suchitra got a degree in Electronic Engineering but did not pursue it as a career. She soon found her calling in modeling and started modeling for several brands. But modeling was not enough, and she wanted to explore more avenues. So she worked as a VJ for Channel V and hosted several TV shows.
It was only in the late nineties that Suchitra decided to try acting. She made her debut in the small screen with the show 'Kahin Diyaa Jale Kahin Jiyaa' on DD Metro. Her big break came with the critically acclaimed show, 'Hip Hip Hurray,' where she played the role of a teacher. She also acted in the Hindi film 'Pyaar Ke Side Effects' and played supporting roles in other films.
Apart from acting, Suchitra has pursued her love for music and is seen performing at various gigs as a singer. She is also a trained dancer and has a Diploma in Kathak. Today, Suchitra is a well-known face in the Indian entertainment industry, and her versatility and talent are widely appreciated.
