Biografía de Steve McFadden
Steve McFadden is a British actor known for his role as Phil Mitchell in the long-running BBC soap opera EastEnders. But before he became an actor, McFadden had a very colorful and at times tumultuous life.
McFadden was born on March 20, 1959 in Maida Vale, London. His parents were both actors, but they separated when he was still a child. He was mostly raised by his maternal grandmother in Edmonton, North London. As a teenager, McFadden was involved in petty crime and spent some time in a young offenders institution.
After he was released, McFadden worked in various odd jobs, including as a laborer and a mover. In the early 80s, he joined a reggae band called the Rootical Movement, as a DJ and drummer. The band was popular on the London music scene and toured with acts like UB40 and Aswad. McFadden even released a single called "I Do Wanna Be" under the name Steven McQueen.
However, his promising music career was cut short by his addiction to alcohol and drugs. McFadden was in and out of rehab throughout the 80s and early 90s. In 1987, he was arrested for drunk driving and received a suspended sentence. His struggles with addiction continued until he finally got sober in 1995.
It was around this time that McFadden decided to pursue his dream of becoming an actor. He enrolled in drama school and started to audition for TV and film roles. One of his first major roles was in the 1994 film The Bill, where he played a tough, no-nonsense detective. He then landed the role of Phil Mitchell in EastEnders in 1990, and has been part of the show ever since.
McFadden's life before acting was certainly eventful, and he has been open about his past struggles with addiction. But his determination to turn his life around and pursue his passion for acting has led to a successful career on one of the UK's most iconic soap operas.
