Born in August 1968, Herrick grew up in the suburban town of Middletown, New Jersey where he developed a passion for acting. As a child, he frequently performed in school plays and community theater productions, showing a natural talent for the craft.
After graduating from high school, Herrick moved to New York City to pursue his professional acting career. He enrolled in the Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute, studying alongside future Hollywood stars such as Scarlett Johansson and Angelina Jolie. During this time, he appeared in several off-Broadway productions and small independent films, gaining experience and developing his skills as an actor.
Herrick's career began to take off in the late 1990s, when he landed several recurring roles on popular television shows, including Law & Order and NYPD Blue.
