Biografía de Phil Everly
Phil Everly was not only a musician but also an actor. Born on January 19, 1939, in Brownie, Kentucky, Phil Everly, along with his brother, Don Everly, became one-half of the rock and roll duo the Everly Brothers. Raised by lauded country musicians, Phil and Don developed their musical skills from a very young age, often singing on their own at family gatherings. By the time they were teenagers, their parents encouraged them to form a duo. They eventually became known for their mixture of country, rock, and pop music, selling over 60 million records worldwide.
The Everly Brothers' first hit record was "Bye Bye Love," which was released in 1957 and became an instant success. It lasted for over 27 weeks on the Billboard chart. They went on to have many more successful records, including "Wake Up Little Susie" and "All I Have to Do Is Dream." Phil was known for his high-pitched tenor voice, which blended perfectly with his brother's low baritone.
In addition to their music, Phil and Don also appeared on television shows such as The Ed Sullivan Show and American Bandstand. Their popularity continued throughout the 1960s, and they continued to produce hits such as "Cathy's Clown" and "Let It Be Me."
After the Everly Brothers disbanded in 1973, Phil Everly pursued a solo career and worked as a record producer. Later in life, Phil also pursued acting, appearing in the 1978 film "The Kids Are Alright," and guest-starring on TV shows such as "Married With Children" and "The Simpsons." He also wrote songs for other musicians, including Cliff Richard and Nancy Sinatra.
Sadly, Phil Everly passed away on January 3, 2014, due to complications from chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. However, he left a lasting legacy in the music industry as one-half of one of the most successful duos of all time.
