Patrick O'Connor is an Irish actor, popularly known for his role as a young Damien Thorn in The Omen (2006) and his lead role in The Bridge (2019). However, before he became an actor, O'Connor had a different path.
Patrick O’Connor was born on January 14, 1994, in Kildare, Ireland. Growing up, he had an interest in various sports, including rugby, football, and GAA. His father was a rugby player who played for Ireland A, and his mother was an avid horse rider. Patrick’s parents separated when he was young, and he stayed with his mother, who was a school teacher. He attended school in Kildare and later went to Maynooth Post Primary.
O’Connor was interested in drama and performing from a young age. He started acting in school plays in Maynooth, where his drama teacher encouraged him to audition for the National Youth Theatre. Patrick auditioned for the National Youth Theatre when he was 16 and got accepted. After joining the National Youth Theatre, Patrick performed in various productions, including Peer Gynt by Henrik Ibsen and The Gorge by Zoe Lewis.
On finishing school, O’Connor went to Trinity College to study English and drama. During his time there, he performed in various productions in the Samuel Beckett Theatre, including The Cherry Orchard by Anton Chekhov, As You Like It by William Shakespeare, and The Importance of Being Earnest by Oscar Wilde.
After completing his degree at Trinity, O'Connor got his first role in The Omen. This film was his breakthrough role and led to several other acting opportunities. He went on to have roles in various TV shows and films such as Red Rock, The Miracle, and Game of Thrones.
