Biografía de Natalia Revuelta
Natalia Revuelta was a Cuban woman born in 1925. She grew up in a privileged family, and she was educated in private schools in Havana. She married the architect and artist Orlando Castellanos in 1945, and together they had three children.
Revuelta’s life changed dramatically in 1953 when Fidel Castro and his supporters began the Cuban Revolution. Revuelta became sympathetic to the revolutionary cause, and she met Che Guevara through her brother-in-law. She later became involved in underground activities and helped to conceal weapons and transport guerrillas.
In December 1956, Revuelta met Ernesto “Che” Guevara in the Sierra Maestra Mountains. Guevara and Revuelta became friends, and Revuelta became known as "La Fina" among the guerrilla ranks. She regularly visited the guerrilla camps, bringing them supplies and food.
Revuelta's role in the Revolution was not only that of a supporter, but also a fighter. After the victory of the Revolution, Revuelta was appointed as director of the Department of Culture in Santiago de Cuba. She was a tireless promoter of Cuban culture, organizing exhibitions of art and film, and promoting literature and music.
Natalia Revuelta died in 2015 at the age of 90. She is remembered as a strong and courageous woman, who dedicated her life to the Cuban Revolution and the promotion of Cuban culture. Her legacy serves as an inspiration to current and future generations of women around the world.
