Born on November 4, 1955, in Santa Monica, California, Dante Acosta grew up in the Los Angeles suburb of Tarzana. He attended Crespi Carmelite High School, a Catholic all-boys school in Encino, California, where he played football and was nominated as the school’s “Most Improved Player.” After high school, he attended California State University, Northridge, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science.
Dante Acosta went on to serve in the United States Navy, where he worked in the intelligence field. After his honorable discharge from the Navy, he worked in various fields including law enforcement, healthcare management, and real estate. Upon retiring from his career in healthcare management, he decided to pursue his passion for acting.
